I’ll be showing in my home again, offering original framed paintings in soft pastels and acrylics, and some framed prints as well. My daughter Joan will be displaying her fine art photography for the first time as well at the same location. (She’s been doing the food photos for my Whatcom Locavore blog, too.)

Other artists will be displaying paintings, drawings, prints, pottery, jewelry, photography, garden and herbal products, notecards, sculpture, glass, metalwork, stonework, fiber, and more! The church near my home will be selling bratwurst lunches on both days, and other special events are also happening. Details are on the tour map (see link below).

Ferries run at 10 past every hour from Gooseberry Point. Round trip costs $10 per car and driver and $4 per passenger–kids under 12 free). If the weather’s good, you might want to bring your bicycle! When you get off the ferry, turn left and stop at the Islander grocery store to pick up a tour map, or you can download a printable map here. I’m at location 12 this time.

Today I saw the little fawn and his mother featured in my painting titled New Neighbor. He is darker tan now with only the faintest hint of white spots remaining along his back. His nose has turned a bright, shiny black. He has the same beautiful face, and was as curious and fearless as ever. He and his mother looked sleek and wooly, well prepared for our cooling night temperatures. Here’s a snapshot of what he looks like now. You can click on the ”All Sizes” link to see a larger version.
